Not yet qualified as a Lifeguard?
We run regular NPLQ courses at Larkfield Leisure Centre for those aged 16 year and over. This national qualification will enable you to work as a Lifeguard at any public swimming pool.
The courses comprise of physical training and theoretical classroom work, followed by a practical in-water and out of-water assessment on pool rescue, first aid, CPR and lifesaving skills. The dates for courses are as follows:
- Monday 12 to Saturday 17 February 2024
- Monday 8 to Saturday 13 April
- Monday 29 July to Saturday 3 August
- Monday 12 to Saturday 17 August
- Monday 28 October to Saturday 2 November
The RLSS NPLQ is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in the United Kingdom and Ireland that complies with the industry guidance contained within the HSE publication 'Managing Health and Safety in Swimming Pools'.
Generally, the NPLQ is a recruitment requirement for a number of jobs from Pool Lifeguard to Centre Manager. On successful completion of the course you will be fully qualified to work as a Pool Lifeguard - £280 Priority Card | £300 Casual User.

CATERING SUPERVISOR @ KINGS HILL SPORTS PARK
Hours: 37 hours per week, including evenings and weekends
Annual Salary: £23,000 - £24,000 plus benefits
We are looking for an experienced Catering Supervisor to assist with the day-to-day management of a small, high-quality catering service.
The role requires an individual who will lead the team but is also happy to be ‘hands on’ to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced exciting environment. To be successful in this role, it would be desired for you to have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or similar) alongside experience of working in a catering environment.
We are looking for an individual who can manage a team as well as provide fast and friendly customer service to our regular and new customers.
The ability to think outside the box to solve problems and prepare for busy times is essential for this role alongside the ability to work on your own initiative and juggling priorities.
The site is open seven days a week offering hot and cold food and drinks. Shifts pattern would involve weeknights and weekend days.
Our package includes free gym membership (at any tmactive site), discounted meals whilst on shift, the ability to cross train on other sites, and an extensive training package. There is also the ability to complete overtime/additional shifts at the other tmactive sites.

LIFEGUARD @ TONBRIDGE SWIMMING POOL
Hours: 37 hours per week, including evenings and weekends
Annual Salary: £20,646 - £22,575 plus benefits
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to progress their career in the exciting world of leisure. Whilst undertaking the day-to-day duties of a lifeguard, which includes ensuring the safety, security, and cleanliness of all areas at all times, you will also have the opportunity to undertake a structured progressive training programme formed around the core elements of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). You may also provide coaching and teaching services to customers.
Based at Tonbridge Swimming Pool, you will be required to work on a shift basis which will include evenings and weekends. The ideal applicant will be customer focused with a natural ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of user. You will also already hold a current NPLQ.

CASUAL DRYSIDE COACH (TRAMPOLINING) @ ANGEL CENTRE & LARKFIELD LEISURE CENTRE
Level 1 £10.42 / Level 2 £17.55 per hour, plus holiday - Casual work as and when required
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified coaches to join our Leading Leisure organisation to support in our mission to get ‘more people, more active, more often’ within our local communities.
As a Dryside Coach (Trampolining), you will help and develop trampoline gymnastic skills of class attendees. You will plan and prepare engaging and progressive lesson plans and be responsible for ensuring these plans are delivered. You will be expected to stay up to date with British Gymnastic guidelines ensuring attendees get the best training possible and achieve their goals and badges.
Shifts will be available Monday to Sunday, including during School holidays.
Successful candidates will have developed a career within the fitness industry, specifically gymnastics and/or trampoline-based teaching and will be experienced in writing lesson plans and be up to date with gymnastic coaching techniques. Good people skills and the ability to motivate pupils and discuss progress with them and their parents is essential for this role.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team on a casual basis. Hours will be available during weekdays and weekends and will include day and evening shifts.
Working within a close-knit team, your main goal will be delivering the best service to our guests at the pool. This will include the service of hot and cold drinks, food service and kitchen work in addition to cash handling and completing cleaning rotas. You will be provided with full training. Experience while advantageous is not required, so this is a perfect role for those who are starting out in hospitality.

CASUAL RECREATION ASSISTANTS @ LARKFIELD LEISURE CENTRE

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team on a casual basis. Hours will be available during weekdays and weekends and will include day shifts and evenings.
As a Recreation Assistant, you are responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of our swimmers and delivering an excellent customer experience. This will include inspecting facilities for cleanliness, complete general pool cleaning and maintenance duties at regular points throughout your shift.
You will be also be required to ensure swimmers follow safe swimming practice, enforce and adhere to pool rules and regulations. Candidates should ideally hold a current NPLQ or have the ability to pass the qualification.You will be customer focused and able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of users. You may also be required to provide coaching and teaching services to customers.
