Royal Ballet Success at Prima Stage School

A couple of talented young dancers from Prima Stage School at Larkfield Leisure Centre are celebrating after having successfully auditioned for the prestigious Royal Ballet School. Alan and Bailey, both 10 years old, have been offered places on the Royal Ballet School’s Junior Associate Programme, which gives them the opportunity to train at The Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden on Saturdays.

They join fellow Prima student Inaya, who has already been attending the associates programme for a year.

Congratulations also extend to seven year old Matilda, who secured a place on their waiting list and online programme, and to nine year old Lila, who has been offered a place on their short waiting list and online programme.

Alan, Bailey and Lila also attend the Prima Associates programme, which runs on Sundays at Larkfield Leisure Centre and offers further training and the opportunity to meet other young dancers. Isida, another Prima Associates student, has also been offered a place on the short waiting list for the Royal Ballet Junior Associate Programme.

All of the teachers at Prima Stage School and Prima Associates are so proud of these students, and of how dedicated they have been to reach such a high standard already. The principal, Julie Hutchings, says: “This is a great achievement for the students and for the school. I am so proud of their dedication and hard work to realise their dreams. Out of the six children who auditioned, two have been offered places and three have places on the online programme. This is a fantastic first step into an exciting future in ballet and dance”.
