Courses & Sports Hall

The Sports Hall is home to a wide selection pay and play activities, courses and clubs.  Hire a court and organise your own game of five-a-side football, badminton, short tennis, table tennis or basketball. Alternatively sign up to one of the many clubs operating at the Centre.

If it’s courses you’re after, our Schools of Gymnastics and Trampolining are led by fully qualified professionals who aim to enable children and adults to learn new talents, develop existing skills and achieve awards in a safe and fun environment.

We also offer great Sports Hall Parties.

Trampolining

Our School of Trampolining offers a programme for children and adults to gain confidence and learn specific skills and a progressive route for children from the age of 2 years through to adults to gain British Gymnastics Awards.

Trampolining Courses

This is a structured pre-school course for those aged 2½ years+ working towards BG Award 1 and upwards. Parents must stay with their child as parental input is needed. Sessions run Monday 2pm to 3pm and Friday at 10.30am to 11.30am.

This course is for 4-11 year olds working towards badges 3-5. Sessions run:

  • Monday 5pm to 6pm
  • Tuesday 4pm to 5pm
  • Wednesday 4pm to 5pm
  • Thursday 4pm – 5pm
  • Friday 4pm to 5pm
  • Saturday 8.30am to 9.30am
  • Sunday 10am to 11am

Working towards BG badges 6-7. Sessions run:

  • Monday 5pm to 6pm
  • Tuesday 5pm to 6pm
  • Friday 5pm to 6pm

Working on BG badges 8 and onwards. Sessions run:

  • Tuesday 6pm to 7pm

Offers teenagers the opportunity to try trampolining, with the aim of gaining BG Awards 6 and 7. Sessions run:

  • Monday 6pm to 7.30pm
  • Tuesday 7pm to 8.30pm

Offers a more sociable side to trampolining working on the higher level BG badges from 8 onwards. Sessions run on:

  • Monday 7.30pm to 9pm
  • Friday 6pm to 7.30pm

Takes place on Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Elite sessions are by invitation only and aim to prepare participants for competition work and BG Awards 11 plus.

Gymnastics

Our School of Gymnastics NAtGAP programme offers three schemes, each has its own training book which lists the skills required. Gymnasts skills are ticked off by the coach, creating a complete training record. In addition, parents can track the training and skills learned by logging on to Home Portal. Once a term, parents are invited to view their child’s progress book.

There are 8 medals to achieve in each gymnastic level and scheme; if a gymnast achieves all 8 medals, a certificate is issued.

Gymnastics Courses

The Early Years programme introduces basic gymnastic skills, coordination of movement and gets children used to the gymnastics environment.

  • Little Gem for parent and child lessons, 8 themed sections of mixed apparatus.
  • Junior Gem 8 sections of 12 mixed apparatus skills designed for pre-school gymnasts.

Each level has eight different sections of apparatus with twelve skills to complete in each (10 out of 12 to pass). Therefore, the four levels consisting of 96 skills each, forming a comprehensive learning programme for gymnasts.

Pay and play activities to suit your timetable (price per hour). Priority Card Holders rates below.  A Day Activity Charge applies to all Casual Users: Adult £3.10 | Concession £1.80

Badminton Court/Short Tennis – Priority Card: Adult £14.20 | Concession* £9.50

Five-a-side/Netball/Basketball – Priority Card: Tournament Area £93.00 | Half Hall £70.00

Equipment Hire – Racquets, bats & balls – Priority Card Free & £5 deposit | Casual User £2.50 per item & £15 deposit

Regular Pay & Play Sessions

This session is ideal for seniors of all fitness and sporting abilities. Running each Thursday from 10am to 12.30pm in the Sports Hall, come and try badminton or short tennis. Courts can also be set up with Easyline equipment or Table Tennis if requested.

Cost: Priority Card £5.00 | Casual User £6.80

Our Saturday SEND Club offers two hours of entertaining sporting activities to customers with special learning needs or disabilities and their carers. Come along and join in the fun, make new friends and learn new skills. Activities include swimming, short tennis, trampolining, table tennis and badminton – activities may vary due to the instructor present on the day.

Dates & Times

The Club meets 5pm to 7pm on the first and third Saturday of each month.

Cost: £3.30 per person, carers go free.

We offer a range of activity sessions during the week for school and special needs groups, as well as provide the opportunity to hire the facilities for private events.

The Sports Hall is able to host local, regional and national sports events. A variety of special events can be held including dog shows and fashion shows. The hall has a capacity of up to 1000 people.

Prima Stage School

Prima Stage School provides opportunities for children and adults of all ages to experience the thrill of performance and learn a varied repertoire from Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Acro Dance and Contemporary Dance, to Street Dance, Singing, Drama and Musical Theatre.

Established since 1990, it is a second family to many of its students, and lifelong friendships are formed within the studio walls. Prima runs highly successful exam sessions and vibrant performance opportunities for all. The school has over 80 classes for all ages and abilities, from 2 to 18+ yrs. Every teacher at Prima is a qualified teacher.
